A team of one is a valid team, and a team of forty pays forty times a team of one. Unless we have agreed something else with you in writing, those are the numbers on your account.
The seat
What $20 a month buys.
A seat is a person. It carries the whole product: all 108 connectors, every model in the router, the container agents run code in, the approval queue, memory across runs, and the team controls below.
There is no run quota and no per-project charge. What a person costs beyond their seat is what their runs spend on models, which is the usage line — so a heavy month is visible as usage rather than as a surprise upgrade.
Seats are counted as people who have accepted an invitation. An invitation nobody has taken up is not a seat and is not billed.
The usage
What usage means, exactly.
Usage is model tokens. When an agent reads its brief, thinks, or writes a deliverable, a model provider charges us for it. We pass that through at what they charged, plus 10%.
Every run also carries a hard cost ceiling. It is not a warning line: the run is checked against it before each agent starts, between its turns, and part-way through a model's reply — and when the ceiling is reached the run stops and tells you that is why. A single brief cannot become an open-ended bill.
The ceiling holds by construction rather than by good intentions. When a manager creates a report it hands over a slice of its own remaining budget and keeps some back, so a whole branch of the tree can never spend more than the grant it was given — which is what stops eight agents running at once from each passing a check that only looks at the total.
You also choose how expensive a run is allowed to be, per folder: economy, standard or premium. The tier is a ceiling on the price of the models the router may reach for, and it is a real lever on the usage line.
Caps
Ceilings you set, per person and per team.
An owner or an admin can set a monthly dollar ceiling for one person, for the whole team, or both. A person's own ceiling wins over the team's, so you can hold one account tight without moving everyone else. When someone is at their ceiling, Traven refuses to start their next run rather than stopping one half-finished.
Members can see what the team is spending. Only owners and admins can change a budget — including their own.
Where the default sits
New teams have no monthly ceiling at all, and the team page says “Uncapped. Nothing stops this total from growing this month.” in exactly those words. The per-run ceiling is always there; the monthly ones exist the moment you set them and not before.
The margin
We resell tokens at 10%, and we would rather say it.
Reselling model capacity with a margin on it is how this works. The question is only whether the vendor tells you the number, and most do not — the markup is folded into a per-credit price, or a “compute unit”, or a plan that quietly bundles it.
Ours is 10%, and your team page shows the provider cost and our margin as two separate lines every month. If you ever reconcile a model provider's invoice against ours, the arithmetic will already be the arithmetic you were shown.

What happens if we go over?
There is no “over” on seats — they are $20 whatever you do with them. On usage: every run stops at its own hard ceiling. If an admin has set a monthly ceiling, the next run for whoever reached it is refused before it starts. If nobody has set one, usage is uncapped, and the team page tells you so instead of implying a limit that is not there.
Can I cap a teammate?
Yes. Owners and admins set a monthly dollar ceiling per person, and that ceiling overrides the team's. Setting it to zero is a real setting — it means that person starts no runs — which is why it is kept distinct from “no cap” everywhere in the product.
Do you resell tokens at a markup?
Yes: 10%. A $4.00 provider bill is $4.40 on yours. The same 10% applies to every model, so nothing is priced to push you off the cheap tier onto an expensive one, and the two figures are shown side by side on your team page rather than added together.
Is there a minimum?
No. One seat, one project, one run is a fine way to use this. No platform fee, no onboarding fee, no floor to clear before the price above applies.
What if we stop paying?
Seats are month to month. There is no contract to get out of and no termination fee, and stopping means you are not billed for the next month. Usage you have already run is still owed — we have already paid the provider for it — and that is the only thing that can be outstanding, because it is the only other line on the bill.
